About Sean Dupuis - Owner of Sheepskin and Things

Preserving Heritage, Crafting Comfort

Founded in 2004 in Calgary, Alberta, and now proudly based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Sheepskin and Things is dedicated to celebrating the rich history of Canadian craftsmanship.

From our roots in the foothills to our current home on the West Coast, our mission has remained consistent: to offer premium, handcrafted products that blend traditional techniques with modern comfort. Whether it’s the rugged durability of our Tecumseh Canada mukluks or the intricate artistry of our Spirit Moccasins, every item we carry is a testament to quality and authenticity.

“Real comfort isn’t just what you wear; it’s the kindness you share with the world.” - Sean D

A Foundation of Values

Hello, and welcome. I’m Sean Dupuis. When I started this journey, I knew I wanted to offer products that were more than just functional. I wanted to connect people with genuine quality—pieces that carry a story.

But beyond the products, I am guided by a deep conviction that, above all, we must work to be kinder to one another. The world can feel rushed sometimes. My hope is that when you slip on a pair of our slippers at the end of a long day, it gives you a moment of peace to recharge, and the energy to put a little more kindness back out there tomorrow.

This dedication to mutual respect and integrity ensures that Sheepskin and Things is not just a business, but a reflection of the values we hold dear.

Leadership & Community

My passion for excellence extends from business to the community. As the founder of Spirit Moccasins, I have championed the preservation of Indigenous art forms through unique collaborations, most notably partnering with renowned artist Bill Helin to create the "Spirit Moccasins," a wearable masterpiece symbolizing family unity.

From the Ice to the Water

My commitment to teamwork is rooted in years of coaching leadership. My journey began organizing and leading spring hockey teams, developing a keen understanding of team dynamics. I successfully transitioned this expertise to the water, becoming a key figure in the Vancouver Island paddling community.

Today, I am the founder and coach of the PANDA dragon boat team with VI Paddling. Having raced on the national stage, I bring this unique blend of competitive drive and coaching leadership to my business: dedication, resilience, and a focus on collective success.

Thank you for supporting our Canadian business.
Warmly, Sean Dupuis
